"How can a spirit filled Christian have a demon spirit living within them at the same time?

Jesus comes into the human spirit and brings his life, when we accept him into our lives as our Lord and Saviour.

I like to give the description of our whole bodies as a circle cut into thirds each one being either spirit soul or body which makes the complete man. We become a new creation as we allow God to come into our lives by his Holy Spirit which is one third of us in the diagram just to illustrate. The other two thirds being body and soul then need to be renewed from the damage and sins from our past and ancestors pasts. As we go through the inner healing process dealing with those things and renouncing them and changing the way we think we become more free and can then yield more of us to Gods Holy Spirit. As changes take place in the soul area quite often healing takes place in the body and this too is then yielded more to God. This is what it means to free both soul and body.

We read in the bible how the physical afflictions and other disasters of Job were the works of satan (Job 1 and 2). Also the woman called" a daughter of Abraham" who was bound with a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years (Luke 13:11-16)who Jesus set free. Jesus rebuked a spirit of fever in Peters mother in law and it left her and she was immediately well (Luke 4:38-39). Jesus often healed by removing spirits of infirmity which are a satanic attack. Jesus went about casting out demons everywhere he went, these are just a couple of examples in the bible.

Casting out demons is a command not a prayer.

Any Christian believer can cast out demons, we need to put the bible teachings into practice and put satan where he belongs under our feet, we are the head and not the tail we have the all powerful name of Jesus to which everything must bow the knee.

Healing and deliverance go hand in hand, many cannot get healed without deliverance.

Every Christian should be able to cast out demons in their own family, parents are the best people to minister to their children, husband to wife and wife to husband or you can even deliver yourself for the smaller things.
