Satan Wants Your Mind; this is How He Comes in to Steal, Kill and Destroy You.
We can have a restored or passive mind, a restored mind is healthy and leads to victory. A passive mind is weak
and can lead to defeat. Satan is after our minds, it is often his first line of attack in the battle over our
lives.
Passive Mind:-
A passive mind is one that doesn’t question every thought that comes in and allows lies to become truth,
therefore allowing fears and negativity to come in. Whatever you yield your mind to is what will control you.
Satan is happy when you have a passive mind, because you do not completely believe the word of God as truth, you
keep questioning parts of the bible and don't totally agree with it being the true word of God, therefore you have
no peace about it. Satan knows that when you have a passive mind you will listen to his ideas. Take the Garden of
Eden for instance, Adam and Eve became disobedient they listened to the lie of the devil and started to question
Gods word and doubt came into their minds. Sin will be entertained in the mind first before it is
committed.
A passive mind cannot make clear judgment on issues, it will lack concentration, be indecisive, having thoughts
jumping from one thing to another, and will not have peace. It will not take responsibility for its own sin but
will say as Adam did “the woman made me do it".
With a passive mind Satan will have a field day convicting you with thoughts of self accusation, despair,
condemnation and depression, you will think you are not good enough or worthy enough and you will never be sure
that your sin is truly forgiven so will keep coming back not knowing that your sin has been cleansed, because you
do not fully understand Christ’s forgiveness.
|
Rom 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are
in Christ Jesus.
|
A passive mind is like the seed in:
|
Luk 8:14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who
hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do
not mature.
|
The bible tells us how to live our lives;
|
Pro 3:5-8 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your
own understandings, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not
be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and
nourishment to your bones.
1Pe 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be
self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is
revealed.
1Pe 4:7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be
clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.
2Co 10:3-5 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the
world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have
divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself
up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to
Christ.
|
Take captive your thoughts today, fight the good fight against the flesh and as you do so you will have victory,
say NO to satan remember what comes into your mind comes in through the ears and eyes so set a guard over these
areas, filter everything and test it to see if it is from God. What comes out of your mouth will determine what
your thoughts are so set a guard over your mouth too.
There are seven entry points to the temple in the old testament and also seven entry points for satan to enter
our bodies eyes(2) ears(2) nostrils(2) mouth(1).
|
Psa 141:3 Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the
door of my lips.
|
Satan will put up a fight with you over the battle of your mind, but to win the battle you have to want to change
the way you think, stay in the word, and walk in Gods ways. Ask God to help you and he will come to strengthen and
help you renew your mind. Remember God is for you, it is his desire that you have victory, keep your thoughts
focused on God today, you are worthy of God in your life do not let satan lie to you and condemn you, Jesus has
forgiven your sins, guilt and shame, he no longer even remembers any of it. Walk in the freedom Christ has won for
you.
Restored Mind :-
A restored mind is one that trusts in God, it studies and tests Gods word, and knows Gods word is trustworthy
and can be relied upon. It loves to learn more about God, it will act in faith on Gods word and work the works of
God listening for his voice and instructions; working his plans out together with the Holy Spirit so that Gods will
is done on the earth. A restored mind is at peace, resting in Gods goodness. It is aware of the lies of the devil
and has overcome the past negative thought beliefs and knows the truth casting out any negative thoughts as soon as
they come in.
|
2Cor 10:5 we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets
itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to
Christ.
|
A restored mind trusts in God knowing he will do a work in us as we line our self up with his word and are obedient
to him.
|
1Pe 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be
self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is
revealed.
|
A restored mind acknowledges sin in their lives and will repent of any sin knowing that the sin has been completely
washed away by the blood of Jesus. It doesn’t keep going back to the sin and confessing it but knows the word of
God is truth and the punishment for their sin has already been paid for in full and God does not even remember it
now.
|
2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!
|
A restored mind is aware that we have an enemy and that we live in a battle over our lives, a restored mind will be
alert to what it listens to and takes into his mind, thoughts come either from God or Satan, It will weigh up the
thoughts that come in and either dismiss them or take them on board.
A restored mind will become stronger as it rejects Satan’s thoughts, as it renews its mind with the word of God
and takes on more of Gods thoughts. The restored mind has inner peace as it acknowledges God in all its ways.
|
1Pe 5:8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls
around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
|
A restored mind wants Gods kingdom restored to him, to take back what the enemy has stolen so his children can
walk, talk, and know God as their loving father, as in the Garden of Eden before the fall. It is a mind that sees
the destruction of the enemy in the lives of Gods children and desires to drive the enemy out of their lives and
bring peace.
Jesus came so that he might destroy the works of the enemy, it is not his mind set for any of us to be defeated
by the devil. He has given us his Holy Spirit so that we might work the same works as he did when he walked the
earth, in fact he said we would do even greater things than he did. A restored mind has the faith to take God at
his word and know he will do those works through us, being his vessels for him to work through as we are led by his
instructions.
Restoring The Mind:-
Jesus says that his strength and might is in us, we must therefore stand in the power and authority Christ has
given us and then when we have stood and won the battle, we need to keep the armor on at all times and be ready for
the next battle, we can never let our shield down. We need to walk daily with God and even then our walk with God
is one step at a time. There is not one perfect soul alive on the earth we are constantly being renewed into Christ
Jesus’ image and learning along the way, until then we rely on God to help us change and become more like him. But
there are some things we can do along the way to help free our minds:
|
Eph 6:10-16 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty
power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For
our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against
the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand
your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth
buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted
with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of
faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
|
You are seated in heavenly places as a son of God and have been given power and authority to overcome. God has made
full provision through Jesus so that you can live victoriously but you must pick up your weapons of warfare and
overcome, you cannot have a passive mind and sit back, waiting for God to intervene. God is waiting for you to take
action; he has given you everything you need to win and it is now up to you. Are you going to let Satan rule over
your life, rob, steal and destroy your peace of mind or are you going to stand and fight. The battle is one of
continual deliverance, you need your armor on at all times you can never let your shield down.
Keep that guard over what comes in through your eyes and ears, ask God to help you become more aware of his
thoughts and give you ears to hear his voice so you can learn to recognize between Gods and Satan’s thoughts, keep
your mind focused on God. We are the light and love of God wherever we go. God has written his laws on our
minds
|
Heb 10:16 "This is the covenant I will make with them after that
time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their
minds."!
|
God has written his ways on our hearts and minds, we know them, we must not be tempted to join in with the ways of
this world, we must be made new in our minds think differently which will lead to us acting differently and walking
in Gods righteousness and holiness.
|
Eph 4:22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life,
to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the
attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and
holiness. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are
all members of one body
|
Take authority over your mind, pick up your weapons of warfare and break off any fears over your life and bondage's
over your mind, take back what the enemy has stolen from you. Keeping your mind renewed daily on the word of God
which is truth and shall set you free as you act upon it. Plead the blood of Jesus over yourself and all your
family each day, Make sure you also cancel any curses spoken or thrown against you by anyone and also cancel any
assignment of the enemy against you daily. Do also as the disciple paul did, as he sang praises to God whilst he
was in prison God came and freed him. Keep a thankful heart and mind towards God.
