Psalm 37:7 ”Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently
for Him."
Soaking in Gods presence is done by resting comfortably and listening to specially made worship music for
this purpose and allowing our selves to be still to receive from God. Soaking can be done at home, alone or as a
group. It doesn’t matter where, what matters is that God can have some time in our busy lives to meet with, commune
with and minister to us. I have found soaking in Gods presence a healing process, this is where inner healing by
the Holy Spirit has taken place for the hurts in my life as i have rested in the glorious presence of God.
Soaking allows our flesh to quieten and rest and our spirits to come alive and become more aware of the presence
of God, to draw close to him, to adore, worship and commune with him. We saturate ourselves in the presence of the
Holy Spirit we don’t have to strive and work hard to gain from God we just rest and put our trust in him allowing
him to do whatever he wants to do as he knows what is best for us. That may be a strengthening for something, for
scriptures to come to mind, a word of knowledge, or a revelation. You may laugh or cry as the Holy Spirit comes
upon you to minister to you. God may pour out his love for you right through your body. You may not experience
anything but God is working during that time and you will get the benefit from just being in his presence. I just
love soaking to be in Gods presence, God always comes by his spirit and its great just to be with my Heavenly
Father.
During one of my soaking sessions, I felt Gods electrifying power go through both my knees up my body and I
didn’t know why, so I asked the Lord what that was for and he told me he was strengthening my feeble knees. I knew
I was going to do my Padi open water dive in a few days and I had just recently been able to overcome my fear
of going under water so this was a big event for me. That strengthening was needed as God knew I was going to blow
both my ears and struggle to be able to dive very far due to the pain in my ears.

Isa 40: 31 "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall
mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not
faint.". |
God desires to help us through everything we go through. I remember once before going to the gym God giving me a
strong impression not to go that day. I didn’t take heed and ended up falling off the treadmill and grazing both
knees. God cares about every detail he doesn’t want you to suffer even grazed knees he is such a loving father.
In one of the very first soaking sessions I went to, I had a complete hour of tears as pain just poured out that
had been suppressed over the years. Another session I remember well as it was boxing day and we had been playing
games so we decided to just have a half hour soaking session but God had other plans and it went on for about an
hour, The Holy Spirit came upon me and I ended up doubled up in laughter the entire time. With all that laughter I
ended up passing wind and with my nurse’s sense of humor I ended up laughing even louder.
We need these times of soaking to strengthen ourselves to enable us to walk with God and not the flesh, to
empower and strengthen us for things ahead, to heal the inner hurts, to know Gods ways and desires and walk with
him as Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden before the fall. God desires a restored relationship with his
children; God is a fun caring God with a good sense of humor, not a fearsome judge in the sky.
You can find free soaking music that you can download from the internet. Just type in search in u tube for
soaking music and you will find a lot of tracks to choose from.
Take some time out today to meet with God, invite him to come and minister into those areas of your life where
there has been pain or trauma, allow him to speak with you, encourage you, fill you with his love which he pours in
right through your body and is so wonderful, you will know how much he adores you. God doesn’t need your help he
just needs you to make the time for him, to rest and he will do the rest, He is the all powerful God.
