Acts 19:6 “As Paul laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke in foreign tongues and prophesied."

The disciples had gathered together having been told by Jesus to wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit. When they were gathered together the Holy Spirit came down upon the disciples like flames of fire and a mighty rushing wind, when that happened they all started to speak in different tongues.

This baptism is a baptism where the Holy Spirit comes to live inside us and when that happens we are given a new Spirit which comes to help us through life to guide us, warn us, empower us, and draw us closer to God.

The Holy Spirit also works on changing the parts of our life (the soul and physical body) that needs dealing with to bring us into wholeness. Quite often what needs dealing with in the soul will effect the physical body, that is why healing sometimes has to take place in the heart and mind before it can be manifested in the body.

Speaking in tongues is one of the best kept spiritual secrets for advancement into living your life as a disciple of Christ, The devil has tried to underestimate and undervalue it over the years because he knows it is a weapon and an aid for our own good and the good of others.

Since speaking in tongues for at least an hour each day I have come to know things in my spirit before they happen, I can get pictures for people of something relevant for them.

I remember my daughter’s boyfriend being shocked when I told him the Lord had given me a picture of magician’s hands in white gloves and a white mask which i knew in my spirit signified witchcraft, I had previously prayed for a muscle pulled in his groin which Jesus healed and now he is starting to believe there is a God. He owned up to frequently searching the internet for magician games and he had a white mask he had dressed up in on Halloween of a murderer.

It is only since praying in the Spirit more that I have received more revelation.

The gift of tongues is given to help us and others, We can be in the spirit any time we pray in tongues, and pray the perfect will of God, our minds do not interfere in this as we pray things our minds could not even understand so God can come into any situation and do a work by his Spirit we wouldn’t know how to pray for.

The Holy Spirit speaks the words, we just give the Spirit the sound to do this, and we do not understand the language. It can be interpreted in church by the gift of interpretation of tongues.

We get divine inspiration and knowledge as we pray in tongues; it really is a great gift from God which we can do as we go about our lives.

I like to pray in tongues as I’m driving, doing the ironing, and housework, I love to sing in tongues too and you can tell if it’s a praising song or a victory song or if the Spirit is warring for you or someone else. Many mountains are moved as we pray in tongues.

If you haven’t received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and you would like to receive this free gift from God, then ask another Christian who does have the baptism of the Spirit in their lives to lay hands on you and pray with you to receive this gift. The Holy Spirit will come upon you just the same as it did in Acts and you will begin to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gives you the words.
