Who is the Holy Spirit?
Holy Spirit means breath or wind and Comforter; he pleads our case before God. In the beginning of time, the
Holy Spirit hovered over the earth and at Gods word the Holy Spirit created the world.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. God desires so much to have relationship with us that He has given the
gift of his Spirit to dwell in those who want to know him more intimately, so that his Spirit can live through us
and help Gods plans be fulfilled in our lives. Just as we physically need air to breath, we need the breath of the
Holy Spirit to live spiritual lives.
Without the Holy Spirit in our lives we will stay in a place where we do not have the power to conquer all our
problems, we will remain in bondage to Satan and his evil forces on this earth, unable to get free, discouraged,
sick, addicted to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, pornography, living in fear and poverty of spirit or finances.
Jesus Christ died and rose again so we could have the gift of the Holy Spirit to dwell inside us. His disciples
were told to wait after his resurrection for this gift. When the Holy Spirit came, He manifested Himself as a
mighty, powerful rushing wind and flames of fire settled on the believers who immediately became bold and spoke in
new tongues. God has given us this wonderful gift of power so that we can overcome problems in his strength. He
knows we are weak and need his help to overcome Satan and ultimately become more like him.
The main role of the Holy Spirit is to bear "witness" of Jesus Christ (John 15:26,
16:14). He speaks to our hearts about the truth of Jesus and reveals Gods will. Through the power of
the Holy Spirit we are transformed into a new creation, he will do a work of renewing our hearts and minds if we
cooperate with him. As he comes and makes his home in us we become the Temple of His Holy Spirit. We can have
fellowship with the Holy Spirit living inside us, he will teach us, instruct and guide us, so that when we move, we
move in his power under his direction, in his authority.
He gives us gifts of divine wisdom and knowledge so that we know things we wouldn’t normally know,
(1 John 2:20, 27). He will warn us of any problems we will encounter usually in advance
so as to prepare us. He gives us the gift of his divine language with which we can pray and intercede before God
for us and others. He gives each of us gifts (1 cor: 12) to work his works. And give us
life, (John: 7:38) The Holy Spirit is an encourager (Acts 9:31)
who builds us up (Rom 8:23) councils (John 14:26); and leads us into obedience
(2 Cor 3:5).
We are told in the Bible that we will know those who belong to Christ by their fruits. The fruits of the spirit
are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self
control,(Gal 5:22-23) Do you want the fruits of the Spirit operating in your life?
Do you want to live your life relying on yourself, living in your own strength, or do you want to have God in
your life and live a life of power, strength and victory over Satan and all your problems with the life changing
power of the Holy Spirit living inside you?
If so, you need the baptism of the Holy Spirit who will come and live within you, guiding you into all truth so
you can be set free from all your sin and sickness. We cannot make permanent changes to our own lives in our own
strength, we need his supernatural strength. As a son or daughter of the king you will have unlimited access to his
throne as he comes to make his home within you by his Spirit and if you allow him he will help you change and be
healed on the inside as well as on the outside. Helping you to step into the true destiny he has for you, where his
plans which are so good, will be fulfilled in your life.
Surrender To The Holy Spirit
|
Gal 5:25 if we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the
Spirit |
God’s original plan for us all is to be free; we put the chains on ourselves by the way we think and act. With
the Holy Spirit operating in our lives we can become free from the chains we put upon ourselves.
When we surrender to the Holy Spirit operating in our lives we will find that our hearts change and we work
together with God desiring what God desires. We have a heart for others to know the love of God that we have found;
we start to feel Gods compassion for others, because God wants to live through us to extend his love to other
people and touch their hearts and lives.
There are times when I feel Gods compassion come through me for others who are hurting, they don’t know Gods
love and life changing help by his Spirit and we can share Gods love because God puts his love for the person
inside us.
God shows us the hearts of others as God looks at the heart of man not the sin, although having said that, sin
cannot be excused, there must be a change of heart to not want to sin and then when we repent that sin is covered
by the shed blood of Jesus, he has paid for our sins at the cross. It is your heart that matters to God and with
his Spirit dwelling inside us he will transform our hearts as we allow him to work in our lives, it is all about
what God can make of you as you yeild to him.
When I first met my husband I could see he had a heart of gold, I knew he wasn’t perfect that there were areas
that needed change but overall I knew him to be a good man with a golden heart. I was reluctant to get married for
a while waiting for God to change those areas I knew needed his touch, but God said “do not be afraid to get
married”. God intervened and on our honeymoon started a healing process dealing with some of those issues and for
me that made our marriage complete. We both are still a work in progress but we look at each others hearts not our
sins.
As we feel Gods compassion for others we also feel Gods sorrow over situations others are in, their infirmities
and the sin in their lives. God brings people our way when we yield ourselves to him, who he desires to help and he
gives us his heart for them.
We have a desire to spread the good news of the gospel and draw closer to God through his Spirit. As we have
relationship with Him our Spirit is lifted up we can have his joy and peace even in times of trouble.
Inner healing is linked to physical healing by the work of the Holy Spirit; he comes to mend all the broken
areas in our lives. God wants to heal you and live through you as a person who is free from chains and bondages,
which is only possible as we surrender to God in our lives and allow his Spirit to work through and in us.
We can become closer to Gods Spirit as we read the word and the Holy Spirit will give wisdom and understanding
of the word to reveal hidden truths that God would have us understand. We can listen to soaking music and rest in
his presence, sing to the Lord and praise him, as we do we will become aware of his presence.
We are touched by the Holy Spirit living within us as we yield ourselves to him. Make him your friend today and
every day, drawing closer to God so you can become free from your chains so you can set others free from their
chains as God works in you by his Spirit.
