Witchcraft is the Act of Magic. 

The word witchcraft means "practice of magical arts." God tells us in his word that he forbids this, that it is an abomination to him. In the Old Testament witchcraft warranted death, (Ex 22:18) in the New Testament it is eternal damnation (Gal 5:20-21).

A witch is someone who has entered into an agreement with Satan to worship him. They deny God and reject the bible. There is only one Satan who does not know everything and he has limited power, unlike God who is omnipresent (everywhere) and all knowing. There is only one authentic power that is all powerful, and that is in God.

If you become involved with the occult (this means things not seen) you do not necessarily know what you are getting yourself into. Witchcraft manipulates the minds of people, and can cause physical, emotional and spiritual damage in the form of sickness, misery, confusion, insanity, and early death. Satan only gives power to cause destruction. If you get involved in witchcraft by; consulting the dead through a medium, consulting a psychic, you may think they are helping you and giving you comfort when in fact they are allowing occult spirits to have a doorway into your life. The disciple Paul, in the Bible, cast out a spirit of divination from a fortune teller, he knew this was not of God otherwise he would not have cast it out (Acts16:16-18).

Witches speak words that form spells or charms, they try to cause people to fear them because of their spells and demonic power. They make spells for their own selfish desires or manipulation i.e. to get someone to love them through use of fetishes, to obtain a new job, or cause calamity on enemies. The ability to cause sickness and death is called bewitchment which is the most feared power. Black magicians can cause unfortunate things to happen to people, voodoo dolls can be used to stick pins in dolls and cause pain and illness upon those who may have angered them. When money is paid for healing, the sickness is only transferred to another part of the body. This is entirely opposite to the way God works, God tells us to forgive our enemies, to love our enemies, to heal the sick raise the dead set the oppressed free, feed the poor, Gods kingdom is love and peace not fear, God gives freely, God detests sin and all forms of the occult. He tells us that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

If you enquire of or get involved in Satan's kingdom through witchcraft you give demons the right to travel to the third and forth generations of your family and cause generational curses upon your family.

Some of the types of magic practices and spiritism to know about and therefore avoid are: fortune telling, all magic black white and neutral, crystal ball, tarot cards, tea leaf readings, handwriting analysis, Ouija board games, ESP, PK (psycho kinesis-The ability to move objects at a distance by mental power), telepathy, horoscopes, clairvoyant, voodoo, astrology, mediums and séances, levitation, table tipping, astral projection, hypnosis, auras, water- witching divining or dowsing to find underground water oil or minerals, spirit guides, curses, spells, potions, charms, fetishes, runes, amulets, rod or pendulum healing, crystal healing, acupuncture, yin yang, apparitions, ghosts, poltergeists, Any objects belonging to any of these things including books and music.

We should be controlled by the Holy Spirit only, if we need to know anything about the past present or future then we should ask God who will reveal what you need to know with his wisdom.

Witchcraft is a very serious thing, God tells us in Gal 5:19-21 that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

The good news is, if you have been involved in any of these things and you wish to turn away from it, you can close the door to these things by repenting and asking God to forgive you for seeking after these things and renounce them all, Jesus became the curse on the cross for us so we can claim this and break the curses off us in Jesus name. Cover yourself in the blood of Jesus and ask God to fill that area of your life now with his Holy Spirit.
